It feels like Summer

Wow we are getting some gorgeous summer sun in the UK at the minute. Doesn't it just make you feel like going to the beach...
I think this could be just what Jen Graham of Graham Like the Cracker is thinking; don't you?

Saturday 26 June 2010

Well it it is Cameron's thirteenth birthday next month, then Saffron is eight in August and I will be another year older in September so Jen's new kit 'Another Candle on the Cake' couldn't have come soon enough for us. Jen collaborated with Michelle Batton to produced this kit that is absolutely stacked full of goodies.

I loved scrapping with this kit all the bright papers and elements are so much fun. Here is the layout I did for Saffron's second birthday.
Jen is hosting a speed scrap #236 tomorrow at 11am PT (7pm GMT) over at Scrapmatters it is going to be fun and you are really going to want that cute participation prize.
See you at the speed scrap

More Exciting News!!

I have been waiting and waiting to share this news with you. I applied to join Jen Graham’s (Graham like the Cracker) and she said yes!! I have known for a while now and I have been working hard on layouts with her awesome kits. The official announcement was made on Saturday but it was such a hectic family weekend with celebrating father’s day that I didn’t get a chance to blog about it. One of Jen’s latest releases is Junior which I used to make this really cool hybrid Fathers Day Card.I used Krisi’s Bracket it up Vol 1 Card templates which were released over at ScrapMatters on Friday. We had a really lovely father’s day Glenn had presents from me and the girls and then we all went out for a traditional Sunday lunch together to the girls favourite restaurant The Castle Carvery. It was a really lovely day. Glenn and I then settled down on Sunday evening to watch a movie together. We hadn’t done this in ages with him having to work so many overtime shifts so it was really good to have this time together.

So while Glenn has been working shifts this week I have been busy scrapping, no surprise there. But having made it onto Jen’s team I have been able to create with her wonderful kits. My favourite so far, although it is hard to choose is Purple is my Signature Color, which is also a new release. I just love this layout that I created with this kit. Jen has a freebie frame on her blog to match this kit at the minute so be sure to head over there to pick it up. You don’t want to miss it.
Here are a few more that I have created with Jen’s kits this week. The images are linked to their kits in Jen’s store over at ScrapMatters. However Jen has also started selling over at Gottapixel and if you head to her store over there she has 30% off at the minute.

Enjoy the rest of your week everyone and don't forget if you haven't done so already scroll through my old posts and help yourself to my freebies. The links are all still live.

Happy Scrappy Sunday everyone!

I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend. It has been fairly quiet around here. The weather has been changeable and Glenn has had to work 12 hour shifts both days. Saffron had a friend over though for a sleepover and that has kept her happily entertained all weekend. The two of them get on so well and they play really nicely together. I was able to get on with some much needed housework and scrapping; what do you think got more of my attention though lol!

Ok so as promised I have some exciting news to tell you! First of all I applied and was accepted onto Krisi’s Kreations Creative Team! She makes amazing hybrid templates which she sells over at Scrapmatters. I didn’t think I stood much of a chance of getting on the team as hybrid is not something I have done before and there was nothing in my gallery. However I have always enjoyed making things so I sent Krisi photos of some wedding stationery I had made and low and behold she said yes! I did feel a little bit like a fish out of water but I threw myself in straight away and got creating. I used these awesome templates

to create this super cute tea party.

It is Krisi’s birthday this week so she has some great stuff coming out this coming Friday to celebrate. Check back because I will have another one of my creations to show you and some freebies too!

My second piece of good news is that three of my layouts have been accepted by Scrapbook News and Reviews for publication! I feel so proud that someone thinks enough of my layouts to want them in their magazine. I never thought when I started toying around with digi scrapping six months ago that I would have come this far so quickly.
Unfortunately I cannot share the layouts that have been selected with you just yet because I have to agree to take them down from websites for thirty days whilst they are in the magazine. But they did give me the little I’ve been published badge that I am proudly sporting on my blog.

I know they say that bad things come in three’s but for me this week good things have come in three’s too. I do have one more piece of fantastic news to share with you but I cannot reveal that until Wednesday when the official announcement is made.

So I don’t like to make a blog post without having a little something to reward my readers. I have two Disney freebies to give you today.
This cluster frame is made from Kellybell’s I love that Mouse Kit which is just fantastic. I have more freebies from this kit if you scroll down through my posts and you can find even more on Kelly’s blog.

Freebie #2 is a cute ‘Pocahontas’ wordart made from Melissa Daniel Designs awesome What John saw kit. You can get this for free by visiting Mousescrappers and taking part in this week’s challenge. It will also be released into Melissa’s store over at Polka Dot Plum on Wednesday.

Enjoy the freebies and happy scrapping everyone.

Thursday 10 June 2010

Phew it has been a crazy busy week. I currently have to work full time at school to cover a colleague who broke his leg, ten pin bowling of all things!! It has not come easy; going from being a laid back part time working mom to full time crazy working mom mode! I really admire women that are able to keep a home and work full time, I wish I could do better but I guess I am not super women after all lol! I will be so glad when I get to the summer holidays in six weeks, it will be such a relief to be able to slow down.
It hasn’t been all work, work, work this week though I got two really exciting bits of news that I cannot wait to share with you all but I have to keep it under wraps for just a few more days. Check back at the weekend though because I will be breaking the news soon.

Keep reading to the end of this post for a sunshiny wordart freebie.
The next kit that Melissa has released this week is What John Saw, this is a fantastic kit for scrapping Pocahontas themed pictures which is exactly what I did. Although it would work equally well for camping layouts. Here is what I created with it This kit is not yet released in any store. You can get it in advance of its release for free! Just head over to Mousescrappers for this weeks weekly challenge hosted by Aussiegirl, scrap a layout according to the rules given and you will receive this as your participation prize. How generous is that!

Sunday 6 June 2010

I am a poorly blogger today, since Friday I have developed an ear infection which has affected my balance and made me feel pretty spaced out! Thankfully the girls have been on vacation this weekend with grandparents so I have been able to get a little rest. Glenn and I had a friends wedding on Saturday which despite being on antibiotics I wanted to go to. It was a gorgeous day and the wedding was perfect I was glad that we made it. Glenn let me have a rest today and did all the house work, resting for me involved relaxing at the pc so I was able to make you guys another freebie. We're still celebrating the release of Kellybells 'I love that Mouse' kit. So I decided to make a Mickey themed template to give away! So keep reading and you will find it at the end of this post.
Kelly also has two more fantastic wordarts for you over on her blog so make sure you head over there to pick those up too.

But before you head over to Kelly's blog here is the freebie I promised you. Have fun scrapping with it!

Thursday 3 June 2010

The sun is shining here in the UK; this is our second day of gorgeous weather. Which is perfect considering it’s the school holiday. We’ve had family staying and it has meant the children have been able to get outside and play. Yesterday we went to the beach for ice cream and to sail toy boats on the pond.

The circus had come to town too so we went to see the show. I got some great photos for scrapping. It makes me laugh now how I am scrapping photos in my head as I take them. Guess I must be addicted!
All this beautiful weather and fun family days out really makes me want to smile and Melissa Daniel Designs has just released two perfect kits for scrapping happy pictures; Smile Pastel and Smile Bright. There is also a range of coloured alphas to match and she has created a fantastic bundle too at a crazy low price!
